I told everyone that I’d offer an honest review and while it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting it might have actually been a little better in the completely off beat way that I wasn’t expecting. The crowd was much less corporate than I was expecting and the presenters weren’t all necessarily rooted in the technology services/product industry.
This made for a VERY dynamic environment full of great presentations packed with energy, fact, and passion. Topics ranged from religion to the new redline and how to sieze the moment. While I felt extremely over dressed for the occasion wearing my Sundays best “fiscally conservative and loving it suit” everyone was very inviting and there was alot of terrific energy and ideas being passed between a huge group of individuals from all walks of life and professions.
As to be expected I wasn’t disappointed and the GBTC was a major sponsor of the event. There were others as well but as direct competitors of my company I’m just to egotistical to provide direct links.
People I was excited to see:
- Dave Troy: A long time ago we knew each other but he doesn’t remember me. Dave is the founder of Toad.net and was a major player in the Anne Arundel area not just an ISP but technology advocate and advancer (for lack of better words). At the time I believe I wasn’t a day older than 21 and worked for a custom software development firm known as OXKO that went under as the over priced custom applications market took a dip.
-Gregory Stone: As Unleashed Technologies keeps growing I’m excited to meet the people that will help with there expertise along the way. Patent Attorney’s definitely being one of them. Probably the best part about this is that as we grow and these friendships are established I can learn, trust, and not have to qualify someone like Gregory when it’s time to employ said services.
THIS ISN’T GETTING SPELL CHECKED. DEAL WITH IT I’M TO BUSY.
UPDATE: I DID SOME SPELL CHECKING AFTER READING HOW BAD THE FIRST ITERATION WAS.
