About Michael Spinosa
Lucky for me I’ve got no writers block when it comes to talking about how terrific I am. A little about myself is that I’m working on 30 years old (less than one year out) and I’ve had quite an interesting ride in terms of my life.
I currently own and operate Unleashed Technologies, LLC, a web design/development firm headquartered in Columbia, MD with a satelite office in Rhode Island (they just had a huge population spurt up to 100 people now).
I spent the majority of my childhood giving my family heart attacks and for all intensive purposes being completely unmanageable just up until a year after receiving my bachelors degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Computer Science. Immediately proceeding that graduation I went to work as a software developer in which I found myself quickly unemployed due to back to back bankrupt companies. The first was in Boston were my efforts were solely focused in the web space building first generation content management systems and architecting data efficient web applications.
The Early 20’s…
After Awais Interactive (also known as AK Media) went out of business I reluctantly moved back to Maryland and took work with a long standing application development firm known as the OXKO Corporation. It’s there that I had the opportunity to assume my first development leadership role and work directly at the White House on three applications, SBA, Time and Attendance, and the Inventory Control System (ICS) for the executive residence. Shortly after completing these software deployments OXKO released all of it’s employees and went from about a 15 to 20 person operation to 2.
Needless to say one of the people staying being the owner I found myself at the age of 23 looking to find a career path of sustainability. I’d lost my position twice in less than one years time to failing oganizations outside of my direct control. I reset my path to enter the information technology and business management world. After 6 months of contracting as a freelance programmer I foun myself interviewing and accepting a position at Macro International which was the first career love of my life. It would be there I would spend the next 6 years of my career.
The Next Six Years…
For the next six years I worked my way up through the Macro International family coming in as the lowest technical position possible. Immediately coupled with a two good friends we were able to redefine customer service expectancy, refine processes, deploy enterprise solutions and completely rework company infrastructure in terms of accessiblity, possibilities, and compliancy.
By year three I became 1 of 2 for a senior level infrastructure team that was entrusted with the core of HQ’s networks and helping coordinate interoperability. This gave me an extreme focus in security and email touching on all aspects; C & A, Technical, Policy, Auditing, etc.
During my employment at Macro International I was surrounded by some of the best mentors I could imagine and many of which remain best friends to this day even though paths separated and I chose to open my own technology integtration firm. In 2007 I determined that although Macro had been an amazingly fruitful environment for growth, I was unable to move at the speed of light. I’d hit a ceiling not under my direct control that led to the next big set of decisions.
Unleashed Technologies Until…. NOW.
Still not done…but soon.
